This is a natural way of learning. When a child is left to learn in a natural environment，the child’s natural development takes place.Influence of any materialistic way doesn’t let the mind develop naturally.Watching TV，playing video games or joining classes of dance，swimming or any other sports will not let the mind develop naturally. Here creativity of their mind is developed. They explore ideas. The logic behind this is that the kids of animals learn by nature，so can our kids.So let our children play in the garden，to watch flowers， plants， birds， butterflies and other gifts of nature. In the classes of dance， swimming etc.their creativity is influenced and their natural creativity is suppressed. In these classes they are overburdened and can’t enhance their creativity. So let them play in the open air or garden withont any burden instead of joining classes. Generally parents give toys to their children and explain how to operate them. But those parents

who believe in slow parenting give toys and observe how the children are managing them.Their skill to learn and understand comes out.Maybe the process is slow，but it will be their exploration，which will make them selfdependent，and selfcapable to learn. 46．In slow parenting，parents________. A．give the whole directions to what their children do B．keep a close watch over their children C．give their children freedom to do what they think proper D．set limits to what their children do 47．What is the main advantage of slow parenting according to the passage? A．Keeping children away from materialistic influence. B．Arousing children’s curiosity. C．Making children interested in exploring nature D．Helping children to be independent. 48．We can infer from the third paragraph that________. A．exploring nature is a good way of slow parenting B．children can’t learn by nature like the kids of animals C．slow parenting should be done in a logical way D．children should join some classes 49．The author believes joining various classes________. A．can train children’s ability of solving problems B．is no good to children’s creativity C．is a necessary part of slow parenting D．also helps improve children’s creativity B Ann was on her first package trip in Rosas, Spain. At the hotel, she checked in, and then went to her room to change before dinner. She was just ready to go downstairs when she found that her Spanish money wasn’t in her handbag. She carefully looked in all her luggage, but she couldn’t find it. All she had was a small purse with ten English pound notes in it! Ann found a place to change her English money. She had very few pesetas(西班牙货币单位), and she would be here for two weeks. On her way back to the hotel, Ann bought some cheese, some bread and some oranges. When she got back, she told the manager that her doctor had told her not to eat Spanish food; she’d just have breakfast each day, as she knew the price of hotels included breakfast. For the rest of her holiday, Ann swam in the hotel swimming pool, or lay on the beach and got a sunbath. When the other tourists went to interesting places, she always said she wasn’t well. In fact, her holiday wasn’t bad, except that she was always hungry. After all, a piece of fruit for lunch, and bread and cheese for supper isn’t very much. Late in the afternoon of their last day, a girl, Jane, asked her why she never ate with them in the hotel restaurant. Ann told her about her money problems. Jane looked at her for a minute, and then said, “But didn’t you know? The price of this holiday includes everything!” 50. “A package trip” probably means _________.

But a new study suggests that calling attention to the words and letters on the page may lead to better readers. The two-year study compared children who were read in this way in class with children who were not. Those whose teachers most often discussed the print showed clearly higher skills in reading, spelling and understanding. These results were found one year and even two years later. Shayne Piasta, an assistant professor of teaching and learning at Ohio State University, was an author of the study. She says most pre-school teachers would find this method manageable and would need only a small change in the way they teach. They already read story-books in class. The only difference would be increased attention to the printed text. “If you get children to pay attention to letters and words, it makes sense that they will do better at word recognition and spelling.” But she says research suggests that very few parents and teachers do this in a systematic way. More than 300 children aged four and five were observed in classrooms. They came from poor families and were below average in their language skills. For thirty weeks, the children took part in a program called Project STAR--- Sit Together and Read. The project is based at Ohio State. It tests the short-term and long-term results of reading regularly to pre-school children in their classrooms. There are different ways that adults can talk to children about print. They can point to a letter and discuss it, and even trace the shape with a finger. They can point out a word and discuss the meaning of the print or how the words tell the story. And they can talk about the organization of the print--- for instance, showing how words are written left to right in English. 54. What do we know about the ways pre-school children are usually taught? A. More attention is paid to the pictures ,with words and letters being ignored. B. Preference is given to the shape of letters and the organization of the print. C. The focus of the teaching is on bringing them up to be good readers. D. Equal attention is paid to the texts and the pictures.

Relationship building is important in different cultures. C. People from Thailand are quiet and shy by nature. D. Talk and silence can be culturally different. E. Different values are against each other. F. Understanding people from different cultures is not easy. 61. Meeting people from another culture can be difficult. From the beginning, people may send the wrong signal. They may pay no attention to signals from another person who is trying to develop a relationship. 62. Different cultures emphasize the importance of relationship building to a greater or lesser degree. For example, business in some countries is not possible until there is a relationship of trust. Even with people at work, it is necessary to spend a lot of time in "small talk", usually over a glass of tea, before they do any job. In many European countries—like the UK or France—people find it easier to build up a lasting working relationship at restaurants or cafes rather than at the office. 63. Talk and silence may also be different in some cultures. I once made a speech in Thailand. I had expected my speech to be a success and start a lively discussion; instead there was an uncomfortable silence. The people present just stared at me and smiled. After getting to know their ways better, I realized that they thought I was talking too much. In my own culture, we express meaning mainly through words, but people there sometimes feel too many words are unnecessary. 64. Even within Northern Europe, cultural differences can cause serious problems. Certainly, English and German cultures share similar values; however, Germans prefer to get down to business more quickly. We think that they are rude. In fact, this is just because one culture starts discussions and makes decisions more quickly. 65. People from different parts of the world have different values, and sometimes these values are quite against each other. However, if we can understand them better, a multicultural(多元文化的) environment will offer a wonderful chance for us to learn from each other. 第 II 卷（非选择题，共 55 分） 第三部分： 写作（共三节，满分 55 分）

书面表达 Always Be Grateful As is known to all, it is one of the Chinese traditional virtues to be grateful to whoever has been kind and helpful to us. In my opinion, our gratitude should first go to our parents because they not only provide us with food and clothing but also care for us in many ways. They are always willing to do whatever they can to ensure our happiness. Second, we should thank the teachers who are making every effort to give us wisdom and knowledge and help us become useful persons. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. Therefore, we should devote ourselves to studying so that we can live up to their expectations. It’s also important to express our gratitude whenever we get help from them. In short, we should strengthen our sense of gratitude and take action to repay their love and kindness.
